How often are providers paid?
Providers are paid weekly via direct deposit.
Are locum tenens providers W-2 or 1099?
Currently, locum tenens physicians, APPs, and CRNAs are classified as 1099 independent contractors while on assignment. While we do not offer W-2 employment at this time, we are actively exploring this option and anticipate offering W-2 opportunities in the future as our program continues to expand.
Can pay vary between assignments?
Yes. Compensation may vary depending on the facility, region, shift type, and clinical requirements.

Is malpractice insurance included?
Yes. Malpractice insurance is provided for all locum tenens assignments.
Are travel and housing covered?
Yes. Travel and lodging are covered for eligible assignments, typically when the provider resides more than 50 miles from the facility.
Do locum tenens providers receive health insurance or retirement benefits?
No. As independent contractors, providers arrange their own medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and retirement plans.
How do most providers manage benefits as a 1099 contractor?
Many providers work with an insurance broker or enroll through a spouse's benefits plan to customize coverage to their needs.


PRIVILEGING and CREDENTIALING
Who manages the credentialing and privileging process?
Our in-house credentialing team manages the process from start to finish, serving as the primary liaison between providers, facilities, and third-party offices.
What documentation is required?
Required documents vary by facility, but typically include licensure, certifications, work history, references, and compliance verifications. Our team collects and organizes all materials on your behalf.
Do you assist with state licensing if needed?
Yes. If an assignment requires a new or additional state license, our team works directly with you and the appropriate licensing board until the process is complete.
How long does credentialing take?
Timelines vary by facility and state requirements. Our team works proactively to expedite the process and keep assignments moving forward.
Will I have a dedicated point of contact?
Yes. You will work closely with a credentialing specialist who provides updates and guidance throughout the process.

HOUSING and TRAVEL
Who is eligible for housing and travel benefits?
Providers resigin more than 50 miles from the assignment location are eligible for travel and lodging benefits.
What travel expenses are covered?
Covered expenses may include round-trip airfare, rental car and fuel, mileage reimbursement (in lieu of flight and rental car), and lodging accommodations.
Who arranges travel and housing?
All travel and lodging are coordinated by our travel department to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.
Can I choose mileage reimbursement instead of flight?
Yes. Mileage reimbursement may be selected in place of airfare and rental car, depending on provider preference and assignment details.
